She became his concubine to pay off her adoptive father’s gambling debts. Her sweetheart, Marshal Clayton Hunt, found out and rushed back to question her betrayal. The Commander stumbled upon their confrontation and shot Clayton to death. Heartbroken, Amelia died with him.
