However, on the day they are supposed to register their marriage, Ciara misses the appointment due to a traffic jam. Despite this, Jacob’s mother uses her connections in Freton to help them register their marriage. Three years later, Jacob returns from abroad and meets Ciara at a project bidding conference, but neither recognizes the other.
